About Dance Choreographic Weekend
The Dance Choreographic Meeting 2025 took place on the weekend of 21–23 November at Studio Truhlárna in Prague 3. Based on an open call, six choreographers were selected — three from the Czech Republic and three from abroad — who spent three days sharing their creative processes and approaches to making work.
There was strong interest in participating, which allowed the artistic team to select a highly stimulating group of choreographers with a comparable level of experience. As a result, the entire weekend became a valuable research moment into what themes contemporary choreographers are currently exploring, how they approach them, and under what diverse conditions they work.
The meeting was guided by two experienced mentors: dramaturg Tinka Avramová (BG/US) and choreographer, dancer, and voice coach Alessio Castellacci (IT). Each participant had dedicated time to present their practice, followed by collective reflection and discussion.
The program also offered space for open conversations about topics that currently occupy the participating choreographers. The meeting thus provided not only an inspiring exchange of experiences but also an opportunity to share concrete challenges, needs, and wishes shaping contemporary choreographic work.
